Below are our care recommendations for GAPANOVICH garments. Treating materials gently helps preserve the shape, texture and character of every piece.
Boiled Cotton | Garment Care
Washing
Machine wash or use a delicate cycle at 30–40°C. White items may be washed at up to 60°C if necessary. Use a mild liquid detergent. Do not use chlorine bleach. Wash whites separately from colours.
Rinsing
Rinse in water of the same temperature. Avoid vigorous mechanical action. Use a low spin speed.
Drying
Reshape and dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight. Tumble drying is permitted at a low temperature.
Ironing & Steam
Ironing is optional: the natural texture is part of the fabric’s aesthetic. Steam ironing is permitted if needed. High heat smooths out the boiled texture.
Storage
Store folded or on a hanger in a dry, ventilated space. Avoid over-drying.
Material Characteristics
Boiled cotton is pre-treated and has minimal shrinkage. It becomes softer over time while retaining the fabric’s character.
Cotton Batiste | Garment Care
Washing
Hand wash or use a delicate cycle at 30–40°C maximum. Use a mild liquid detergent without bleaching agents. Turn the garment inside out before washing. Avoid washing with thick or coarse fabrics: batiste is sensitive to friction and needs special care.
Spinning & Drying
Do not spin vigorously or wring. A gentle machine spin at low speed is permitted. Reshape and dry away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Air drying in the shade is preferable to preserve the fabric’s shape, colour and structure.
Ironing & Steam
Iron on a low or medium setting, preferably while slightly damp. Steam may be used. Gentle treatment enhances the smoothness of batiste and preserves its lightness.
Tencel (Voile, Eucalyptus) | Garment Care
Washing
Hand wash or use a delicate cycle at 30–40°C. Use a liquid detergent for delicate fabrics, without bleach. Turn the garment inside out and fasten buttons and zips. Avoid vigorous mechanical action.
Rinsing
Rinse in water of the same temperature. Do not wring. Use the lowest spin speed or disable spinning.
Drying
Reshape and dry flat or on a hanger, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Tumble drying is not recommended; if used, only the lowest temperature setting is permitted.
Ironing & Steam
Iron on a low or medium setting, on the reverse or through a damp cloth. Ironing is often unnecessary: Tencel recovers its shape well with steaming or air drying.
Storage
Store in a dry, ventilated space, on a hanger or neatly folded. Avoid prolonged exposure to light.
Material Characteristics
Tencel is smooth and soft to the touch. With proper care, it resists creasing. Gentle care preserves its silky feel and natural lustre.
Nettle (Ramie) | Garment Care
Washing
Hand wash or use a delicate machine cycle at 30–40°C maximum. Use mild detergent without bleach. Use the lowest spin speed or disable spinning. Avoid vigorous mechanical action.
Rinsing
Rinse in water of the same temperature. Do not wring. Gently remove excess water.
Drying
Reshape and air dry flat in the shade. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat.
Ironing & Steam
Use the linen or cotton setting with steam while the garment is slightly damp. Iron only on the reverse, through a cloth if needed.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool, ventilated space, preferably on a hanger. Avoid sharp creases and damp conditions.
Material Characteristics
Ramie is a natural fibre with properties similar to linen. It softens over time. Gentle care preserves the fabric’s structure and natural character.
Mohair | Garment Care
Washing
Hand wash at up to 30°C, using only a mild wool detergent. Do not soak or rub.
Rinsing
Rinse in water of the same temperature. Do not wring. Gently remove excess water.
Drying
Dry flat on a level surface and reshape by hand. Keep away from heat and direct light.
Do Not Iron
Light steaming from a distance is permitted. Do not let the steamer touch the garment.
Storage
Store folded. Do not use hangers. Use natural, breathable garment bags.
Material Characteristics
A soft halo is a natural feature of mohair. Avoid contact with sharp objects. Gentle care preserves the garment’s character. We recommend brushing gently down the garment with a slicker brush.
